Mt Everest in Florida

Cordelia, Trista and Jan arriving at Fort Wilderness CG.

Only at Disney World.
Mt Everest in Florida (with Snow).

From a little closer.
There is something quite strange about this mountain....

It has a Big Steel Roller Coaster inside it!

Trista is in Pink wearing Sunglasses.
Not wanting to spoil the surprise, let's just say that
the theme of this Ride is the Mountain Yetti.
You can only try to imagine what Disney Imagineers
did with that....

Of course Roller Coasters aren't the only "things"
at Disney World Animal Kingdom.

Care to count the Crocs??

'Phoots are definitely part of Animal Kingdom.

To see these Creatures you take a ride on Disney's "Safari".

More Florida Denizens

There just wasn't room in yesterday's Post for all the Creatures....

While standing above Blue Spring I looked down
and saw this Turtle
Good camo, Eh?

While watching a Manatee I heard a commotion.
Below the platform this Ibis was earning its
Daily Bread.

This Heron was ignoring the Humanoid commotion.
Isn't this scene is straight out of Pogo??

These Gar share the water with the Manatee.
Being 100% Spring Water, this is
a low oxygen environment but
Gar can survive here.

There are at least six Manatee
in this PIC
How many I couldn't count.

This morning a Big Hearty Breakfast was required.
I know, I know. But to us reformed types
this IS hearty.
(That's 3 egg whites with only part of 1 yolk to add color.)

While I Lurked in search of a Manatee this Heron Sailed in.

Then I looked down and Mommy....
was giving Baby its Breakfast.
Look hard, its not a good PIC.
Baby is under Mom.
(of course, that's where the
"Manatee Titties" are,
in the usual location)

I saved the Best for Last.

Snow and Manatees

The Plan was for Lew to pilot Ms Dolphin to Fort Wilderness Campground (at Disney World) where she would become Hotel Dolphin. You see, it is time for Cordelia to see The Mouse. After Lew, Katz and Ms Dolphin are all settled in at Fort Wilderness then Cordelia, Mommy and Grandma (Jan) will ride the Tin Bird to Orlando. In order to have a time cushion Lew got to leave on Sunday, the 20th whereas the rest of the party won't arrive at The Mouse until Saturday the 26th. Hmmm. What to do in Florida for five days, Eh??

Here was Lew about to start out
(that's a map of his destination-Fort Wilderness CG).
It was 2DegF with a 15Mph breeze blowing!

Yup, that is Snow in North Carolina.
It wasn't until almost Savanna,Ga that the water in the roadside ditches became liquid.

But the next day things were definitely different.
Hey! Those trees are full of Oranges!
What a Treat for Frozen Boy of the North.

Well, its Tuesday afternoon. The Temp is 75DegF and Ms Dolphin is
camped at Blue Spring SP (near Orlando) in Manatee Land.

Lew went for a walk in these Florida Woods....

...and found Blue Spring,
which has a year-round Temperature of 72DegF.
It feeds into the St Johns River and thence
into The Sea.
Sometimes Things swim up from The Sea.

Manatees love the warm water and spend the Winter right here.
(They perish in water temperatures below 60DegF).

These strange and large (this one about 10Ft long) Mammals definitely have Faces.

This pair relaxed about 6Ft below my foot.

They breathe once every couple minutes.

So Lew did manage to find something to do in Florida while awaiting the others....

Pittsburgh RV Show

The Good Folks from Kerola Campers were coming to the RV Show with (among other lovely single axle lightweight things) an Aliner Ease , the brand new center (Full) bathroom folding trailer from Aliner. There are seemingly no PICS of this setup anywhere yet, so we thought to share ours.

To the Uninitiated, this is the new Aliner Ease. Bathroom door is behind my left shoulder.

Folded down the Bathroom becomes this countertop.
Sink to his left and Dinette to his right.

Countertop hinges up to become the back wall.
Right Wall and top half of Door hinge up to the right.

Left Wall hinges up to the left and locks into place.

Done and ready for use.
Sink to the left with black-glass cover.
Furnace under sink.

This view from outside with Bathroom Door closed.

With the Bathroom Door open.

The Front Dinette with the Bathroom Door just showing at the left edge of the PIC.
(Goes into a 40" wide single bed.)

The rear Queen sized bed.
"Euro styled" (recessed black glass covered) Cooktop to the left.
Sink (also with hinged cover) to the right.
Bathroom door just showing at the bottom right corner.

This Scotty Trailer is actually brand new.
The proud partners who manufacture it.

Christmastime!

It's a time when Special People arrive at your Door....

....To work on Special Christmastime things like Gingerbread Houses.
It was Cordelia's idea to make one this year from-scratch so it would be Yummy-Edible.
So Grandma Amazoned a Mold and they baked the pieces,
then Assembled and Decorated it.

It's a time to indulge in a Johns Christmas Tradition....
Baking Pecan Rolls.

Cordelia is all about Tradition and knows the Procedure this Year.

Of course the Cook has to sample the Product to assure it is up to Standards.
(It was.)

It's a time when Packages and Boxes arrive on the Doorstep.
Ms Dolphin got a new Furnace for Christmas this year.

Before you know it Christmas morning is here....
With Christmas Breakfast!

It is a time when children find Presents under the Tree....

....And a time when Fathers (and Grandfathers) must assemble some of those Toys.
(definitely another Johns Tradition)

Happy Christmas to all and to all a Good Night.
