Much to my surprise, our 19 month old Grandson ‘gets' this book. The facial expressions of the two characters as they become friends are clearly understood by him. He now asks for the book by title and I've already (in two days) read it to him at least 10 times. Consider this Caldecott Honor book for your young one's library.
