Forced Westward

The original plans had us doing our favorite bike ride on the Mickelson Trail.  The hint of a problem occurred when we tried to make reservations at the KOA in Deadwood.

They were full until Sunday.  We decided to hang around the Black Hills and bike on Monday.  WRONG! While Lew shopped for cat food and kitty litter...I called and called and called...Nope not one spot available except at the $70 a night KOA near the DEAD HEADS...
Not going to stay there!  So it was a trip down memory lane as we made our way to Buffalo, Wyoming...Remember stopping at that Walmart?  What did we get there?  Remember how small Gillette was before the coal industry took over everything?

Well the drive for the day is over....and we arrived at Deer Park campground.  Leaving me with little to blog about other than the smoke from Idaho fires...The smoke in the air prevented us from seeing the Bighorns as we approached Buffalo.
We might be in and out of Yellowstone....but we will still head West.  And the first week of school for those who teach at Peters has ended.
