Michigan Vacation With Our Girls

We drove from North Adams to Weatherford, Tx, from there to Bloomington, Ill and thence on to Empire, Mi for a family vacation.

Michigan is Lakes and Beaches.  We arrived at Indigo Bluffs early Saturday afternoon.  We made a trip into Traverse City to buy supplies!  Yeh....sweet cherries are available.  After the girls arrived we drove to Empire for the first trip to Lake Michigan.

Like their father and Aunt, digging a hole in the sand was the main activity.

Buffy was allowed on this beach and quickly figured out that she liked to dig on the beach too!

On Sunday we drove to Northport to see those old stomping grounds.  We drove through the campground and then went to the lighthouse.

Violet is a trooper.

After the visit to the lighthouse we drove to the Old Burfiend farm, which we highly enjoyed when we lived in Traverse City.  Here is the house where Sue, George, John and Polly lived.

There seems to be a theme here that has a inherited past!

Monday ( June 27) we went to the Lake via the Platte River.  We bought asparagus from a farm stand (thanks Harry) for $2.25 a pound.  It was delicious.

We took Buffy back to the trailer and went on a cliff walk.  These sand bluffs are 4500 yrs old.  The girls went on a hike up the sand dunes
