Polynesian culture

Day Three: June 18 Three of us started the day with a walk. Carole, Shannon and Dee hiked to the ridge behind our house. Jan stayed home and blogged.

After a wonderful lunch with Carol, the five of us took off to spend the afternoon at the Polynesian Culture Center. We went to three of the seven shows before the luau.

After the shows we went off to the traditional luau. Here is the kings court.

The food was very good.

The blue roll is very good sweet bread. The purple sweet potato in either a salad or baked was tasty. The green stuff is spinach. Rice, pork, spiced dried beef, pineapple, poi, and a salad finished off Jan's plate. THe real surprise of the evening was the evening show Ha, Breathe of life. We were all very impressed with the show.

Of course Intermission consisted of more food.

Then it ended with lots of fire...which includes smoke....see Jan run...See Jan having an asthma attack...see Carole running with Jan...it was a great show.

Then home and the end of the day.

  1. I bet it was really neat seeing a luau. Sorry about the asthma attack. That kinda stinks.

Is poi good? How about the spiced beef and pork? I could eat the rest but I am not sure about that.
