Green Lakes State Park New York Campground Review

Attraction: Erie Canal bike path accessible from campground.  Golfing, Swimming.  We arrived mid-afternoon.  It was hot so we went to the beach area.  It is quite a walk from the campground so we ended up driving there.  The bike/hiking trail to the campground is steep and would be fine for those without issues.  Part of the beach was closed to swimming due to the lack of lifeguards.(State cuts). The water smelled fishy to me.   We meant to bike the next day, but we woke to rain and so took a pass.
Garbage: Bin near bathroom.  No recycling.
Bathroom: Clean but inconveniently located. Not enough for the campground.  Expect a morning and evening wait for the showers and possibly the toilets. The showers have a changing area within the shower.  The temperature could be adjusted.
Site: Large enough.  Partly sunny.
Cost:  $15 base fee.  6  for electric.  5 for out of state 2.75 for not using the reservation system that would cost 9.00  total cost. 28.75.
