1776

For many July 4th years

Lew and I watched 1776 today as we do every Independence Day. I always think about three things.  I am so thankful that we had such brave signers and writers of our Declaration of Independence and I gladly celebrate that bravery (and yes I've read Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States.)  How I wish, I could think we had leaders of that caliber today.

And how glad I am that I saw it on Broadway way back in 1970. Lynda Starr got sick and couldn't go with the theater group to NYC to see two plays, Fiddler on the Roof and 1776.  I could buy her spot, but I didn't have enough money.  Donna lent me what I needed to go. A friend then and a friend now.   I loved every minute of that trip.  Some of the folk on face book might remember and comment.

Anyway Happy Fourth to you and yours!
